CONYERS, Ga. - The #12/14 UT Dallas men's golf team are in eighth place after two rounds of the Emory Spring Invitational at Cherokee Run Golf Course on Monday.

The Comets shot a 313-312=625 (+49) and are 21 strokes off the lead in the 13-team field. Host Emory, who is number one both rankings, leads with a +28, followed by the Emory B Team at +33. 

Daniel Shofner leads UTD with a 73-77=150 (+6) and is tied for sixth. He made five birdies on the day and had eagle in round two on the 14th hole - a 510-yard par 5.

Jarrett Grinnel and Tyler Durden are both tied for 28th. Grinnel shot an 82-75=157 and Durden recorded a 77-80=157 (+13). With an 81-80=161 (+17), Joseph Park is in a tie for 42nd to round out the Comets' scoring.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Tuesday.
