RICHARDSON, Texas - Five student-athletes from the UT Dallas softball team were named to the Academic All-District Teams selected by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and play in half of the team's contests.Â
CSC Academic All-District Teams
Megan Cavazos, a sophomore outfielder from San Benito, Texas, led the Comets with a .353 batting average with 30 hits, 14 runs, six doubles, one triple, eight RBI and two stolen bases. She made the American Southwest Conference All-Tournament Team. Cavazos is majoring in Criminology.
Jordan Evans, a senior second baseman from Cypress, Texas, hit .328 with 19 hits, 15 runs scored, three RBI and six RBI. She is majoring in Healthcare Management.
Emilie Hoelscher, a senior pitcher from Waco, Texas, broke the school season record with 151 strikeouts and was named the ASC Pitcher of the Week three times. She went 13-10 with a 2.25 ERA, 12 complete games and two shutouts while throwing 127.2 innings. Hoelscher is majoring in Finance.
Alexia Mullen, a junior outfielder from Pearland, Texas, led UTD with 12 stolen bases while hitting .267 with eight hits, 14 runs scored and a double. She is majoring in Healthcare Management.Â
Olivia Reed, a junior first baseman from Coppell, Texas, hit .250 with 11 hits, two runs scored, four doubles and four RBI. She is a Biochemistry major.
