GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The UT Dallas cross country teams competed at the DBU Old Glory Gallop at Lynn Creek Park Saturday morning. The Comet men finished 15th in a field of 41 teams, while the women placed 32nd out of 46.
Sophomore
Frank Douglas recorded the seventh-fastest 8K time in school history in 25:40. He finished 68th out of 400 runners and has been UTD's top finisher in all four meets this season.
Junior
Christopher Castro was 78th in 25:48 and senior
Matthew Chimitt rank a personal-best time of 26:34, finishing in 122nd. Senior
John Youssef placed 165th in 27:09. Sophomore
Colton Dillard also had a career-best mark in 27:13, placing 171st.
On the women's side, freshman
Bharvi Varu was the Comets' top finisher for the second consecutive meet. She finished in 20:14 and placed 184th in a field of 420 competitors. Senior
Rebeca Betanzo was 222nd in 20:42 and sophomore
Ellie Suo-Anttila recorded a time of 20:55 for 236th. The scoring was rounded out by sophomores
Becki Jeffery in 21:46 (292nd) and
Emily Skrabanek in 22:09 (307th).
UTD will wrap up the 2024 season in Clinton, Miss. at the Watson Invitational on Friday, October 18.
