KERRVILLE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's golf team finished in sixth place out of 14 squads after the final round of The Battle at Riverhill at Riverhill Country Club Monday.
The Comets finished with a 292-286-299=877 (+13). St. Mary's (Texas), the host of the event, ran away with the team title, shooting an 837 (-27). They were followed by Midland (Texas) and Odessa (870/+6), Cameron (871/+7), New Mexico JC (876/+12), UTD and Arkansas Tech and Houston-Victoria (881/+17).
Sophomore
Reese Tortone paced the Comets by tying for eighth place. He shot a 70-70-75=215 (-1) and sank 10 birdies over three rounds. Junior
Tyler Durden tied for 20th with a 77-70-73=220 (+4), followed by
Andrew Chow tied for 23rd at 71-74-76=221 (+5) and
Parker McCurdy tied for 28th with a 74-73-75=222 (+6).
Durden led UTD with 12 birdies in the tournament, followed by Chow with 11.
The Comets will finish the 2024-25 season at the Discover Dekalb Invitational in Conyers, Ga. April 19-20.
