RICHARDSON, Texas - Five UT Dallas golfers were named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and compete in two-thirds of the team's tournaments.
Sofia Trevino and
Maddy Vilven were selected to the team for the third time, while
Parker McCurdy and
Tyler Durden earned their second honor each.
Hayden Trost is a first-time selection.
Trevino, a senior from The Woodlands, Texas, averaged 76.39 shots per round with a team-leading 39 birdies. She won the Bethany College Classic in Kansas to end the season, placed second at the West Region Invitational and the FST Invitational and helped the Comets to three tournament victories. Trevino was a three-time American Southwest Conference Golfer of the Week in 2024-25 and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Trevino ended her career with a school-record 150 birdies. She was also named the UTD Female Student-Athlete of the Year and the recipient of the ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor. Trevino graduated with a degree in Computer Science.
Vilven, a senior from Magonlia, Texas, played in all eight tournaments, averaging 79.17 shots per round with 25 birdies. She won the FST Invitational and was named the ASC Golfer of the Week. She ended her career as the program leader with 97 rounds played and 86 counting scores. Vilven graduated with a degree in Visual and Performing Arts.
Trost, a sophomore from Billings, Mont., averaged 85.56 shots per round with 14 birdies in eight tournaments. Her top finish came at the Texas Cup, where she placed fifth. Trost also shot a low round of 77 at the Texas Cup. She is majoring in International Political Economy.
McCurdy, a graduate student from Seguin, Texas, broke the school scoring average with 72.09 shots per round while sinking 82 birdies and three eagles. He won two tournaments and had four top-five finishes. McCurdy tied for the program's 54-hole score with a 203 at the Chicken Express Classic in October. He was also a four-time ASC Player of the Week in 2024-25. McCurdy ended his career with a program-record 72.60-shot average. He completed his master's in Biomedical Engineering.
Durden, a junior from Austin, Texas, averaged 73.48 shots per round with 73 birdies and an eagle. He recorded two top-five finishes and broke the school record with a low round of 64 at the Chicken Express Classic in October. Durden tied the 54-hole record with a 203 at the same event and finished second at the Texas Cup in March. Durden is majoring in Arts Technology & Emerging Communication.
