RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas fresman Hudson Goellner was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Goellner, a canter from Poetry, Texas, averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game as the Comets won a pair of home games. He recorded 13 points, a season-high 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals in Thursday's 96-58 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Goellner followed with 18 points, four boards, four assists, two blocks and two steals in Saturday's 68-42 victory against Texas A&M International. His performance helped limit the opponents to 27.9 percent shooting and 50 points per game.

The Comets will travel to San Angelo, Texas to face Angelo State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
