Banks Tessier recorded his third eagle of the tournament and fifth of the season, breaking the UT Dallas single-season record with five at the Rattler Invitational on Tuesday.
The Comets finished the 16-team tournament, which featured several top 50 teams, in eighth place at The Dominion Country Club. They shot a 305-286-297-888 (+24), placing two strokes behind #11 DBU, #17 UT Permian Basin and #22 UT Tyler.Â
Senior
Tyler Durden paced UTD, tying for 10th with a 77-72-71=220 (+4) with nine birdies. He has six rounds of par or better this season.
Tessier tied for 22nd with a 79-69-755=223. He made an eagle in all three rounds, capped by Tuesday's on a 379-yard par-4 on hole number three. He surpassed Tanner Landry (2014-15), Ryan Kropp (2021-22) and
Parker McCurdy (2023-24), who each made four in one season.
Senior
Davis Grindle shot a 75-74-74=223 (+7) with seven birdies, tying for 22nd. Fellow senior
Cole Wiley had nine birdies with a 79-71-77=227 (+11), tying for 47th.
The Comets will be off until March 11 when they compete in the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational in Henderson, Nev.
