HENDERSON, Nev. - The UT Dallas men's golf team lead a 10-team field after two rounds at the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational at The Legacy Golf Club Wednesday.
In addition, freshman
Grant McCleskey is in third place and three shots off the lead.
The Comets shot a 290-290=580 (+4) and sit four shots ahead of the Canadian team UBC Okanagan (584/+8) and 11 shots ahead of host #31 Winona State (591/+15). UTD also led all teams with 39 birdies over two rounds.
McCleskey, from El Paso, Texas, fired a -2, 72-70=142 and tied for the most birdies in the tournament with 10.Â
Junior
Hunter Wolfinger, who led the pack after the first round, is in seventh place with an even-par, 69-75=144. He made eight birdies and an eagle.
All six Comets competing are in the top 20 after the first day. Senior
Tyler Durden is ninth with a +3, 76-71=147 and eight birdies. The second round was his seventh of par or better this season.
Freshman
Banks Tessier is tied for 17th with a +7.
Cole Wiley and
Greg Lewis, competing as an individual, are tied for 20th at +8. Wiley also made eight birdies.
The third and final round will be played on Thursday.
