Box Score SHERMAN, TX (12.29.10) - The UT Dallas women's basketball team shot just 25 percent and committed 24 turnovers as the Comets were handed just their second loss of the season Wednesday night, 60-38, to No. 16-ranked Carthage (Wis.). The non-conference game was played on the campus of Austin College.
UTD (now 10-2) scored just 12 points in the first half and never recovered as Carthage shot nearly 50 percent from the field as the nationally ranked Lady Reds picked up their second win in as many nights at the Hughey Gym.

The Comets hit just 12-of-48 shots from the field as a team, connecting on just 3-of-12 shots (25%) from three-point range, and shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the foul line. The loss marks the second by UTD in three games after the Comets opened the season with a school-record 9-0 start.
The 38 points scored by UTD was the program's lowest total of the season by far and the lowest output by the Comets in four years, when UTD lost to East Texas Baptist, 61-37, on Jan. 18, 2007.
UTD returns to action Thursday, Jan. 6, when the Comets kick off the new year at Concordia-Texas in Ameican Southwest Conference play. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. in Austin.
