AUSTIN, TX (04.03.16) - The UT Dallas women's tennis team remained perfect in American Southwest Conference West Division play Sunday afternoon with a 6-3 road victory at Concordia Texas.
The Comets (now 4-6, 3-0 ASC West) need just one more league victory to lock up a seventh straight berth to the ASC Tournament later this month. UTD returns to action Friday afternoon when they host McMurry at 2 p.m.
UTD found itself in a 2-1 hole after dropping a pair of doubles matches, but earned five singles wins to rally for the victory. Top-flighted
Sumvruta Iyengar and
Elizabeth Labra were the only Comets to earn a double win, downing CTX's Cassedy Crawford/Alexis Popovich, 8-1.
Iyengar would add a single victory at No 1, downing Tornado top-flighted Lelya Martinez, 6-1, 6-2.
Sophie Farmer earned victory at No. 2 (6-3, 6-0), Labra at No. 3 (6-0, 6-3),
Emily Nguyen at No. 4 (7-5, 1-6, 6-4) and
Kelly Reed at No. 6 (6-2, 6-2).
