RICHARDSON, TX (04.08.18) - After opening the spring with seven straight losses, the UT Dallas women's tennis team is now on a two-match winning streak after a 6-3 home win over Concordia Texas Saturday in American Southwest Conference West Division play.
The Comets (2-7, 2-2 ASC West) evened their divisional record Saturday after taking 2-of-3 doubles contests and winning four singles matches over the Tornados.
Top-flighted duo of
Kathy Joseph and
Elizabeth Labra tackled CTX's Justus Aarhus/Leyla Martinez, 8-1, and
Sumvruta Iyengar and
Sophie Farmer downed Lisette Mata/Haylay Anderson, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles.
The Comets earned wins at the top four spots in singles play with Joseph (No. 1), Iyengar (No. 2), Farmer (No. 3) and Labra (No. 4) all winning their matches.
UTD returns to action Friday with a 3:30 p.m. home match with Howard Payne in ASC West play.
