RICHARDSON, TX (02.22.18) - UT Dallas sophomore guard Victoria Pena has been named first team Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA), announced Thursday morning.

A native of Helotes, Texas, Victoria leads the No. 18-ranked Comets this season with 16.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists,heading into this weekend's American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament. A four-time ASC East Player of the Week this season, the O'Connor High School product boasts a 3.89 grade point average, majoring in Finance at UTD. A strong candidate for ASC East Player of the Year, Pena is shooting 40.2 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from three-point range, and 80 percent from the foul line. Pena scored in double figures in all but three games this season and recorded five 'double-doubles".

The Comets open the 2018 ASC Tournament Thursday at 7:30 p.m. when they face Hardin-Simmons at the UTD Activity Center.
