AUSTIN, TX (04.15.18) - The UT Dallas women's tennis squad improved to 5-0 in American Southwest Conference West Division play and claimed at least a share of the division title Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 road win over Concordia Texas.
The Comets rolled through doubles play unscathed and followed with five singles victories to complete the team win.
Sindhu Ravula and
Kathy Joseph teamed up for an 8-3 win over Danielle Cuteri/Leyla Martinez.
Elizabeth Labra and
Svaksha Iyengar claimed an 8-4 win at No. 2 while
Stephanie Royer and
Sumvruta Iyengar held on for a 9-8 win at No. 3.
Top-flighted
Sumvruta Iyengar earned a 6-0, 7-5, win over CTX's Justus Aarhus as one of five Comets to earn straight-set singles wins. Joseph (No. 2, 6-0, 6-1), Ravula (No. 3, 6-0, 6-2),
Svaksha Iyengar (No. 4, 6-1, 6-2) and Labra (No. 5, 6-0, 6-1) also claimed singles wins.

The Comets (9-3, 5-0 ASC) will wrap up the regular season next Sunday, April 22, when they host Hardin-Simmons at 1 p.m. at the UTD Tennis Courts.
