RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team will go for its fifth consecutive American Southwest Conference title and sixth overall in 2024.

The Comets, who are #35 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, went 13-7 overall in 2023 and 4-0 in ASC East en route to the squad's fifth straight division crown. They were tabbed as the unanimous favorite to repeat in the ASC preseason coaches poll, released on Wednesday.

UTD returns six players from last year's team that made its fifth-ever trip to the national tournament, including reigning ASC East Most Valuable Player Rebecca Jackson. She teamed with fellow senior Saumya Vedula to reach the ITA Southwest Regional doubles semifinals in the fall. Jackson, ranked #48 in the nation, also reached the semis in singles play.

Also returning are All-ASC selections Elyssa Ducret, Megan Zeng and Tisha Nakakes-Nguyen, along with Kriti Parikh. Freshmen Reika Nagai and Riya Matharoo were selected to the ASC Preseason Players to Watch list. Jhastine Red Ballado and Elsha Valluru are also new to the team.
