TYLER, Texas - The UT Dallas women's tennis team earned eight singles victories on the opening day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Central Regional on Thursday.

In the Singles A Draw, Presley Churchman, Namrata Makhija, Kendall Curley, Reika Nagai and eighth-seeded Katia Robinson each won their first round matches.

Makhija, a freshman from Fulshear, Texas, went on to defeat Axelle Jacquemin of Lubbock Christian 6-4, 6-1 in the second round. She will face #13 Camila Garcia Morales from Midwestern State in the third round on Friday.

Freshman Grecia Idrogo defeated Aitana Moreno Villa of LCU 6-1, 7-5 to start the consolation bracket and will take on #2 Selina Wu from St. Mary's on Friday.

Junior Elsha Vaulluru won the first match of pool play in the B draw against Cameron's Tiana Braxton 6-1, 7-3.
