Box Score AUSTIN, TX - The UT Dallas men's basketball team kept its untarnished start to the season in tact Monday night with a convincing 96-75 win over Concordia University of Texas.
The Comets, who improved to 5-0 on the season and picked up their second American Southwest Conference win of the season, gained revenge over the Tornados for a pair of losses last season, including one in the first round othe 2008 ASC Championship Tournament.
UTD raced out to a 48-27 halftime lead after starting the game with a 15-3 run in the first 5:00 and finishing with a 22-10 streak. UTD' opened the second half with an 11-4 run and had its biggest lead at 59-31 with 17:10 remaining.
The Comets shot a remarkable 62.7% from the floor throughout the game while holding Concordia to 36% shooting with another stellar defensive effort. The Comets finished the night with a commanding 39-27 advantage in rebounding.
Temaine Wright topped the Comets again with a 23-point night while
Jordan Eppink and
Ernie Lowery added 14 points apiece.
Brandon Greene was strong on both ends of the floor with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Comets' trip through the ASC West Division teams continues at home Thursday when Sul Ross State comes to the UTD Activity Center .
