AMBER (GRIFFIN) SCHMIDT lettered four seasons for the Comets from 2005-08. She was a First Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region selection in 2008 and a Third Team pick in 2005. Schmidt earned All-ASC East Division honors four times, including a First Team selection as a senior and was the ASC East Division Freshman of the Year in 2005. She was a three-time Academic All-ASC selection and was on the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Second Team in 2008. Schmidt played in 154 games and hit .421 with 221 hits, 130 runs, 25 doubles, 15 triples, 76 RBI, 294 total bases and 77 stolen bases. She still holds the Comet career record with 15 triples and ranks second in hits and runs and is third in average, total bases and steals. She is the fourth softball player to be inducted by UTD. Schmidt graduated with BS in Business Administration in 2008.
