UT DALLAS ATHLETICS HALL OF HONORS
NIKI CALVERLEY set the standard for what a setter for the UT Dallas volleyball team should be when she took over the starting role as a freshman in 2007. The program’s first-ever All-American, Calverley helped lead the Comets to their first two American Southwest Conference championships and lifted UTD into the national spotlight.
As a sophomore, Niki helped the Comets to their first conference title and then was the leader of a 2009 team that marched through the regular season with a perfect 23-0 record and a second straight league championship. As a junior, she was named third team AVCA All-American and then collected first team All-America honors after her final campaign.
Over her career, Niki was a two-time All-ASC pick and a three-time Academic All-ASC selection and left the program as the team’s all-time assists leader. She was a seven-time ASC Player of the Week honoree and was UTD’s first-ever AVCA National Player of the Week. In addition, Niki was honored as the UTD Female Student-Athlete of the Year in both 2010 and 2011.
Niki earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2011 and is currently a teacher in the Wylie Independent School District and serves as the assistant volleyball coach at Wylie East High School.
