TRENT ELIZONDO
(Baseball 2005-2007)
TRENT ELIZONDO was a career .393 hitter, and a two-time winner of the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Year award in three seasons with the Comets. A transfer from Weatherford College after his freshman year, Elizondo was named the ASC Newcomer of the Year in 2005, and was selected to the ASC All-East Division team for three straight years. He was also honored three times as an All-Region player by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Elizondo finished his UTD career among the leaders in numerous offensive statistical categories. In three seasons, he drove in 122 runs and tallied 64 extra-base hits - including 51 doubles - and posted a career slugging percentage of .559. He was member of the 2007 team that had a school-record 34 wins, was ranked nationally and finished third at the NCAA West Regional playoffs in California.
Elizondo was an all-state player at The Woodlands (Texas) High School in 2003 before attending Weatherford College for one year. He decided to transfer to UT Dallas to pursue a degree in psychology as well as continue his baseball career in a quality program. After earning his degree in 2007, Elizondo joined the management training program with Sherwin-Williams Paints, and has earned several professionbal certifications with that company. Elizondo currently travels around the country, consuiting on large-scale coatings projects with clients in a variety of industries.
