UT DALLAS ATHLETICS HALL OF HONORS
CHELSEA EDWARDS CRAGIN was the first recruit by women’s basketball coach Polly Thomason and helped lay the ground work for a Comet program that has now made 10 consecutive postseason appearances.
A native of Friendswood, Chelsea (Edwards) Cragin joined the Comets for the 2006-07 season and became a four-time All-ASC performer for UTD at point guard. She helped lead the Comets to their first-ever postseason trip as a freshman and sparked UTD to its only ASC East Division title as a junior in 2009. A three-time Academic All-ASC selection, Chelsea was tabbed ASC East Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. She remains the Comets’ all-time assists leader and to this day still ranks second all-time in points and eighth in rebounds.
Chelsea earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as a junior in 2009, graduating Cum Laude, and collected her MBA from UTD in 2010. She landed at BBVA Compass Bank in the Wealth Management Department upon earning her master’s degree and currently works in sales at Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston.
